National Behavioral Health is a behavioral health facility located in Georgetown, KY. Our primary mission is to improve mental health and treat any related disorders. Our treatment philosophy is simple: everyone is unique, and therefore different types of treatment work for different people. Dr. Ali is a specialist in psychiatry which is the branch of science concerned with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental illness. Dr. Ali prescribes FDA approved medications for mental health conditions and substance use disorders.

Substance Abuse Treatment Kentucky

Dr. Ali is also specialized in Addiction Psychiatry. He treats all substance use disorders and any related comorbidities including but not limited to Alcohol use disorder, Opioids use disorder and Tobacco use disorder.

Substance Abuse Counseling Kentucky

Addiction Counseling is the specialty of helping people recover from their addictions. Dr. Ali provides advice, treatment and ongoing support necessary for patients with substance use disorders. Dr. Ali treats and supports patients in a one-on-one environment.

Dr. Ali, MD, FAPA, ABAM:

Dr. Ali received his Medical degree from University of Tripoli, Libya. He completed his residency training in Psychiatry at University of Kentucky. He completed his fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at University of Cincinnati. Dr. Ali also had training in Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy at the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute. He has been appointed as a fellow of the American Psychiatric Association. Dr. Ali is board certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and also board certified in Addiction Medicine.


Dr. Ali is currently working as an attending psychiatrist at Bourbon Community Hospital and the Ridge Behavioral Health. He also has worked as an attending psychiatrist at St. Claire Regional Medical Center.


Dr. Ali is professionally affiliated with the American Psychiatric Association, Kentucky Psychiatric Society, American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine.


Dr. Ali specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of adults with a wide range of psychiatric disorders including but not limited to; Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Depression, Eating Disorders, Mood Disorders, Psychotic Disorders and Substance Use Disorders.

Julie Lauderback, LCSW:

Julie Lauderback is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has 9 years’ post-licensure experience doing outpatient therapy with children, adolescents, families, adults and couples. She also has a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Science in Social Work from the Kent School of Social Work at UofL. Julie is originally from Lexington, KY and has been providing therapy for people affected by substance abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD/trauma related issues, grief/loss, codependency issues, and marriage/relationship problems. Julie uses evidence-based approaches to include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, CBT, DBT, Mindfulness Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Play Therapy and Trauma-Informed CBT Therapy.

Sheila Freeman, LCSW:

Sheila Freeman, LCSW, holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Kentucky. She has practiced in the behavioral health field since 1998, providing both mental health and substance abuse services. Ms. Freeman utilizes Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, Mindfulness approaches, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy techniques as well as having additional training in hypnotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Reality Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and creative approaches such as Sandplay and journaling.

Kelsey Padgett:

Kelsey Padgett graduated from University of Kentucky with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and a minor in Family Sciences. Kelsey obtained 5 years of experience working with the mental health population and 2 years in Case Management. She chose this field because she loves helping and connecting with others on a mental and soul level. Kelsey’s main goal is to encourage others to be the best they can be and promote understanding of self.

Marcella Ramsey, LPCC:

Marcella Ramsey is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Marcella received her Master of Arts in Community Counseling from Eastern Kentucky University in 1994. She received her LPCC in 2009, and has practiced, post licensure, for 11 years, providing mental health services to seniors, adults, and adolescents. Marcella has experience providing therapy for people affected by a wide variety of issues that include Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, PTSD/Trauma, Grief and Loss, and stress related issues. Marcella uses evidence-based approaches which include, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as art-based techniques. Marcella’s goal is to provide you with an accepting, non-judgmental, SAFE place to work through your difficult issues.
